“Be interested, not interesting” is the maxim of a good listener. And for Katie Cleaver, it’s the key to her success as a real estate professional.
Yet Katie’s path to Bella Vie Real Estate is interesting all the same. She was born and raised in Woodland and earned a bachelor’s degree in leisure studies at the University of Oregon, spending one semester in France and touring Europe and another semester in New Zealand and Australia before moving to Hawaii. She became a boat captain, took guests scuba diving, did the cooking for tours that lasted several days, and eventually wound up on a team selling $10 million oceanfront lots.
But when she and her husband, Sean, had their first child, Katie grew homesick for California. They moved back to Woodland in 2004, and Katie started working in residential real estate. With her professional background, life experience, and stellar listening skills, she is comfortable communicating with all her clients — from CEOs to first-time homebuyers — providing a first-class experience. As a Woodland native, she has a thorough knowledge of the local market and has served on the Yolo County Board of Realtors®.
When she’s not busy making clients’ dreams come true, Katie enjoys the great outdoors as a hunter, fly fisher, horseback rider, and skier. She also likes water sports, golf, and tennis and loves spending time with her husband and their children, Grace and Gannon.
